Sacred Gifts of Evolving Empaths

In 2004, when I was writing my psychology dissertation on mindful awareness of body sensations and how this can help deepen the therapeutic relationship, (in an attempt to understand my own experience of being an Empath), I wish someone would have told me about the gifts of being an Empath.
Elaine Aron had published her book on Highly Sensitive People, but when I was feeling my clients’ sadness (or joy) or getting a headache from someone on public transit, no one knew why.
I wish I would have had a guidebook on how to live this beautiful life as an Empath.
Back then, I confused feeling a lot with living deeply or sharing trauma with being genuine. It was not what helped me feel closer to myself or other people!
And, what I’ve learned is that when we Empaths evolve, we make the world better — without abandoning ourselves.
If you’re an evolving Empath, you may already recognize some of your gifts:
✨ Depth of insight: people come to you for your wisdom and depth of understanding of what’s happening below the surface
✨ Caring deeply: Caring about other people, animals, and the earth in a way that's profound!
✨ Enhanced Sense of Presence: a deep capacity to be with people or animals and see their worth, beauty, and lovability. This often leads to people sharing who they are with you and being able to connect at a deeper level without feeling lost in feelings.
✨ Strong intuition: A great capacity for communication with your intuition -- whether it be through clairaudience (hearing), clairsentience (sensing), clairvoyance (receiving images), or claircognizance (clear knowing -- intuitive "downloads").
✨ Moving from Victimhood to Sovereignty: This shift often occurs after we've learned how to clear and heal our energy. It creates a shift from thinking that things just happen to expeirencing co-creatorship and agency.
✨ Inner Belonging: A felt sense of belonging that comes from being your full multidimensional self (soul and human), wherever you go.
✨ Feeling safe to be embodied: Learning that you don’t need to leave your body to cope or stay connected with other people. You’re learning to inhabit yourself fully—sensations, emotions, intuition, and presence, knowing that your body is your first home.
✨ Love, kindness, and compassion: without feeling pulled to give our loving energy and take on others’ feelings through over-empathy.
We’e here to learn and grow and be our full, true selves rather than to be perfect even if we want to be in integrity. ♥️
As we learn to focus and clear our own energy, we receive the blessings of who we are and this can lead to a greater sense of spontaneity, purpose, and joy in being our full, true selves! ♥️
